Official crop kickoff is 7pm EST tonight (Friday May 1st) and runs all weekend long! Deadline for all crop submissions is Midnight EST on Tuesday, May 5th.

So here's how we are going to do it...

The "YMBD Bucks Bucket"

Help us fill this Bucket with YMBD Bucks!

For every 1000 YMBD Bucks that goes into the Bucket, YMBD will donate $1 to the

Canadian Cancer Society.

Here's how you can help fill the bucket:

For every challenge completed during the online crop and uploaded to the YMBD Gives Back Crop Gallery, 100 YMBD Bucks will go into the bucket!
As of this morning Cat has cleared her own YMBD Bucks Balance to 0. She will be accepting donations of your own YMBD Bucks balances (as much or as little as you would like to donate). To donate, just click the donate link in her profile to the left! All donations of your bucks will go into the Bucket, as well as any Bucks she earns during the crop by posting, commenting and uploading! So keep an eye on her balance and watch it grow!

Challenge Submissions: All challenge/crop submissions must be uploaded to the YMBD Gives Back online crop gallery, by Midnight EST May 5th.

IMPORTANT: You may complete as many challenges as you wish, and you may complete all challenges more than once, but please only upload ONE photo of each submission to the crop gallery (if you want to post additional photos of closeups, you can upload those to the regular Member Gallery).
All submissions must be new creations, created during the crop (no past work allowed). Your creations may be traditional scrapbooking, digital or hybrid. The gallery upload limit we normally have in effect is lifted during the crop and does not apply.

Prizes: What's a crop without prizes right? Prize winners will be drawn randomly from the crop gallery. The more challenges you complete and upload the more chances you have at winning (statistically speaking).

Had an awesome time in Mexico...we arrived late April 4th at the Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda Resort in the Mayan and had a fun filled week of sun, sand, pools, tequila and Bubba's filled with vodka!!!! I think I'm going into withdrawls right now!!! LOL

Where do I start?
How about the last 2 sketchs of the awesome set we had to work with in March from So Sketchy...okay, that sounds like a great idea!!!!! :)

Here's the 2nd one that I worked on in March...I went WAY back in my stash for this one and pulled out some fun KI pp!!! A treasure found as it worked perfectly with the photo I took of a rose from the bouquet my hubby got me for my 40th birthday!!!! Since it was my birthday, the Printable Stamps from The Cutting Cafe that was our sponsor this month came in very handy!!! I used a small one and a large one that I punched out after printing with my big 3" scallop punch...love the look!!! Thanks for the opportunity to work with your wonderful printables...I enjoyed it throughly!!!

Hey all...pretty quiet on here, eh?

Well, no reason really except that I had nothing that I could show you. ;) It's been pretty busy around here the last week or so and hard to update the blog when I'm barely at my computer! Fun stuff, for sure, but it's cutting into my scrap time!! :)

YMBD Feb Mid Month Reveal and a couple other fun things!

First off...Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!!! Hope you got to spend yesterday with your loved ones doing whatever makes you happy...I know I did!!!!!

So now, down to business!!! Cat has some awesome new flourishes, scrolls and images in the store and we got to play with some of it for our Mid Month reveal...can you say fun!!!!! I had a blast creating these layouts and cards...and everyone knows how much I love to make cards...not so much! LOL

Pretty In Pink has a gorgeous pink scroll and a really fun chipboard snowflake and journal tag on it! I painted the snowflake pink, added some Rangers Stickles and sprayed with Vanilla Glimmer Mist to match it with my layout colors. It's so easy to work with and adds great dimenion to the whole look!!!

Boys Will Be Boys has a gorgeous flourish...yep, even boy layouts can have a bit of "fancy" and still work...especially with the skull and cross bones Grungeboard to "man" it up!!!! This layout is based on the latest Mix it Up Challenge #5.

Now for the fun cards...you'll notice I'm using a LOT of old pp, embellishments etc. lately...this is for a reason!! SSZ is having a Trash Your Stash contest...100 projects before you can buy anything new...I've bought new, how can a girl like me resist?? She can't!!! But I have yet to use any new stuff...it's awesome to pull out "old" stash and see it all in a new light again!! Feels good. I'm about half way through the 100 projects so a while to go but I can't complain about anything that I've created lately...I love it all over again!!!

Some HS pp that I just had to have and didn't use on this card, my new scalloped circle punch (ordered before I started this stash but tools don't count for me in this non-buying challenge! ;)), old 7 Gypsie's rub ons and a fabulous flourish from YMBD finish off this card.

The best for last...it's probably my favorite card I've ever made....more HS pp and 7G's rubs and the amazingly sweet butterfly image from YMBD!!! Oh and a new Martha scallop punch...can't get enough of those border punches!!!!

These little cuties I made yesterday and took to the Valentine's party we went to last night...I made 10 in all (a nice addition to my stash challenge, I might add! ;)) and used Daisy Bucket stamps for the heart image and sentiment. They are 3x3 and so quick and fun to make, you could use anything for the image and make them work for any holiday or occasion!

I've been taking a Digi Diva class at Scrap Shotz the past couple of weeks...finally had time (and fixed my PSE so it would stop freezing on me after each step!!!!) today to finish up a couple of assignments...fun stuff, clipping, .png files, collages, oh my!!!!!

Hey everyone...so, you remember me saying I had a really cool announcement to make and how excited I was...well, I can now tell you all about it!!!!!!!!!!

So Sketchy had a DT call a few weeks back and I applied...guess what? Ha ha...like you don't already know what's coming!!!! ;) Yup I was chosen as one of the 9 new So Sketchy Sista's!!!!!!!! I'm so thrilled to be working with such a talented group of scrappers and card makers for the next 6 months! But now I'm found!!!! I love, love, love, love,...well, you get the picture, Lost!!!! 2 hour Season Premier was on last night and I'm hooked all over again!!! We watched Season 4 just after Christmas and it was so nice to have Season 5 start right after...no feeling lost (pun intended!! ;)) while waiting for the new season to start!

My fav: is Sawyer, of course...love the bad boy! Here's what he'd call me if I was stranded by his side on an island...we all know he can call me anything he wants, though!!!! Tee hee! *blush*

Wow, Crazy Week!!!!

First off, here are my January 15th reveal projects from YMBD...I had a blast working with the fun kit that Cat sent me...the 15th reveal is a different set of items then the 1st and these projects are to showcase the different products that Cat hand crafts and makes.

This first one is called Christmas Hams...yep, these two are pretty crazy....love their sense of playfullness!!! On both layouts I used the Artisan Classic - Labels so fun and versitile!!!

Totally different feel to this layout but the Artisan Classic - Labels fit perfectly again!!!! I used the Little Yellow Bicycle Love Letters line from Scrapbook Star for my layout...the pp, the embellishments...oh my lord, so lovely!!!!!!!

After those layouts were complete I had an absolute blast creating these cards with Magical Mushrooms - Journaling Tags - and my Cuttlebug!!!!

Here's to a wonderful first month on the Design Team at YMBD, I'm loving every minute of it, I hope you are, too!!!!! :) :)

While I didn't get a lot of scrapping done this week with volleyball starting back up again on Monday, Wed and Thurs, I did manage to create this layout as a part of the layout tag at Scrap Shotz. Coming to an End

...my vacation that is!! :( That makes me sad but I'm also looking forward to going back to work, getting back into a routine again...volleyball starts again tomorrow night and even though I'm sick, I'm dying to get back into it and actually do some exercise...I've done not much of anything since Christmas holidays began...and I can feel it, not in a good way!!!! Ugh, sluggish! :)

Here's the only layout from the last couple days that I can show you at the moment....the rest is for my YMBD Mid-Month reveal on the 15th...I'll give you a couple sneak peaks but be sure to check the message board on the 15th for the full monty!!! :) :)

I'm truly loving using up some old stash!!!!!! We are having a little Use Your Stash challenge between a few friends and I think this is layout #4...slow going since I'm such a pokey scrapper but so far I've loved what I've created!!!

Melanie took this picture of me at our Christmas crop at her place in December...thanks Mel, it must be your photography skills because I usually hate pics of myself!!!!!! I love the look on my face here, pure happiness, and I just had to scrap it!!!!

Canada Wins Gold!!!!!!!!!

Five years in a row, the Canadian Jr. Team brings home Gold!!!!! Such a fabulous tournament and near and dear to me this year since it was in my home stompping grounds, Ottawa!! I didn't get to go to any games in person but we felt as much excitement and a rush as those in the Bank must have felt watching with the best group of friends in the world!!!!!

Now that I've come down...a bit...from my hockey high, I'm planning some scrapping time today! The tree still looks pretty so I'll leave it up for another day...or two! :)

Here's one I just finished up! Same pp as the last layout I did, opps, but obviously I love it, so it's all good...it's all about using your stash, right? :) Used the fun Nested Circles from YMBD - they are so yummy and now come in a plethora of colors...grab some while you can, you won't regret it!!! :)

On YMBD news, the date has been set for the online crop - It's All About the Bucks...join us Jan 31st to Feb 2 for fabulous challenges and games! More details to come as the time draws closer, I hope you'll check in. Also, Cat got a new toy....go see what MAXX can do! I think she's in love...I know I am with the new goodies!!!!!

Speaking of online crops, Scrap Shotz is having their online crop the same weekend - Retail Therapy Online Crop...I think I'll book the weekend off from life and just scrap 'til my little heart's content!!! :)

Bought a new lens from a fellow scrapper yesterday...ohh, I like! It's a 75-300m Canon zoom and it's so much better than my current one - I think I'll have the old one up for sale very soon - if you're interested, let me know. It's the 75-200m and a great lens!!!!

Well...it's a beautiful sunny day out there today, maybe I'll go play with my camera!!!!!

YMBD Jan 1st Reveal and Other Stuff!

Well, January 1st marked the beginning of my term as a Design Team member at Your Memories By Design and what a beginning it was!!!!! I just love the hand designed embellishments that Catherine creates, they go with pretty much anything and as an added bonus I get to use MY stash of pp, etc. I had a blast working with the Baby it's Cold Outside -- January Special...the kit is full of fun snowflake stickers, journal blocks, chipboard snowflakes (my fav!!!!), foam alphas and neat saying spots! A big thanks to our Online sponsor - Scrapbook Star - for some awesome Rose Mocha pp, it's heavenly!!!

Here are my projects with the Jan Kit!

Life's been busy around my house the past few weeks so I haven't scrapped as much as I'd have liked to but I'm offically on vacation for a week so I hope to remedy that issue!!! I have so many awesome photos that I took over Christams that I just can't wait to scrap!!! Have I mentioned lately how much I love my Canon Rebel? I got an awesome Gorillapod Focus for Christmas from my wonderful hubby (he spoils me so!!! :) :)) and I can't wait to use it!!!!

I'm going to try to participate in Ali's Photo a Day challenge so I'll be setting up my other blog for photos, check it out if when you get a chance. Not sure I'll be able to update it every day but I will add the pics as they are uploaded from the camera.

On another note - Do You have Curly Hair...do you like it? My hair is VERY curly...I straighten it almost every time I wash it and when I don't, it's usually up in a messy ponytail...I was reading a post on Layle Concar's blog about a project her friend designed and knew right away that I had to try them out....well, all I can say is I'm in LOVE with my curls now and so is everyone else!!!! Every curl deserves to be happy is the motto at Curls Like Us and they are fabulous. The Curl Cloths do wonders for my curls and I bet they will for yours, too...I've already recruited a friend and we ordered a set for her and another set for me just today!!! Try them out if you hate your curls as much as I did!!! You won't for long, I promise!!! :)

I'm kind of happy about that...but sad, too! Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow but knowing I only have 4 actual working days before I'm on vacation is helping a little bit!!! :)

Just a few things to show you today; here is the Christmas present that I made with BG pp, my Cuttlebug and a picture frame...she loves it but asked for one of what Emilie got, too...who knew! LOL

Here's what Emilie got - she asked for a diary this year so Auntie Julie came through and made one for her! I love it, and so does she...and Dani! lol

That's all for now...we're in the middle of a NCIS Season 3 marathon but I stopped to do some scrapping for my very first reveal at YMBD...Love the results and I hope you'll check out the forum on Jan 1st and feel the same!!!

In scrapping news! LOL I think it's kind of funny how I only seem to update on weekends...I spend most of Sat. mornings taking pics of what I did during the week to post on here, then I spend a couple hours editing and uploading stuff. Ahh, daylight after 5PM will come back, right? Right????? Not soon enough for me!!

So, lots to show you this week...but first, I just have to say that I am D-O-N-E my Christmas shopping!!! Oh yeah, baby!! It's all bought, wrapped and under the tree...I think this is the earliest I've ever been completly finished!! I need to stop and get Paul's stocking stuffers but other than that...no more malls or stores for me! Ahhhhhhhhhh, feels good!!!! :) :) I also have to add that Paul is done..even my stocking is filled and under the tree...that is just not right!!!! lol

Had a wonderful time at Melanie's yesterday scrapping with my peeps - thanks again, Mel
for an awesome time, opening your home to us crazy chicks (Poor Dan! LOL) and letting me snuggle Brianna...love her baby sweet smiles!!!! Got lots done, finished Emilie's diary (I'll show you all after Christmas), did a couple cards for the January DT reveal at YMBD and a layout just for me!!!! That's a lot for me in one day!!! Oh and even though I had my camera I forgot all about taking a picture of Carole's amazing Turtle Cheesecake that she brought...omg, HEAVEN!!!!!!! Thanks, Carole!!!!

We did a Chinese gift exchange and here's the present I took home...LOVE it, what a cool funky color of Santa...he went on the tree right away!!! :)

At Scrap Shotz this year we did an ornament exchange that I took part in...fun!!! Here are the ornaments I got from Ellen...along with a beautiful card!!! Thanks again, Ellen, they are perfect!!!! :)

Now for some fun layouts and projects that I've worked on this week. This tasty little nugget is Crate Paper - Mia Collection, yum!!!!; Prima bling, Bazzill shape strips; and YMBD Journal Spots. Based on a sketch from So Sketchy - see link at right!

The same Bazzill shape strips I used on this card back in Sept when I got the kit from SSZ. Pink Paislee pp...have I mentioned it rocks my world? Well, just in case I didn't...it does!!! ;)

Oh look!!! More Pink Paislee - I had fun playing with the Tinsel Town line creating this canvas. I used a Tim Holtz Ranger Fragment and covered the pp with it and cut the trees out of a sheet of pp add some AC sparkly Thickers and lots of Stickles and you have...fun stuff!!!

This layout was done for the Dec Sketch Challenge at Scrap Shotz...fun working with the circle background shape...I've never done that before without backing it with cardstock - I think I like it!!!!

I did this layout last night...thanks for the title help, girls!!!!! More Pink Paislee - Sweetcakes Line! Yum, so bright and fun for little girls!!! I made the flower from pp and punches and "ribboned" my ribbon for a fun element on the bottom! It reminds me of Robertson Ribbon Candy...any one from Truro, NS and surrounding areas should be familiar with that candy!!! More YUM!!! :)

And last but not least...and the best, I think just because of what it is!!! It's Jess's Loo Roll Gift Card holder!!! How fun is this? It's made with an empty toilet paper roll...it's a perfect size for a gift card so if you have time and you want a fun way to "wrap" gift cards you're giving...check out her tutorial...so quick, easy and fun to make!!! :)

The Snow is Here to Stay!!

We got a ton of snow this weekend, looks like it will be a white Christmas for sure!!!! Yay! Then, I wouldn't mind at all if it went away in January!! lol

So, in the spirit of Christmas, it's time for a new banner photo and a cool new background color! It's so easy to change the background now with the templates from Simply Chic Blog Templates , you might just find me doing it every couple of months to keep things fresh!!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!

My first DT kit from YMBD arrived today...the goodies are so cool! I can't wait to start working with them - I might even be done early for a change, haha! I wonder if Cat knows how much of a procrastinator she hired for her 2009 DT? ;) ;) Tonight I took some pics of my favorite Christmas decorations (one is the blog header photo) so I've spent the night playing with those pics, maybe you'll see them on a layout in the near future!!

One thing I dislike about this time of year is the lack of daylight hours...I leave for work in the dark and get home after dark, it sure cuts down the amount of time I have to snap photos of my recent projects! Good news is, there are weekends in there and lots of daylight hours to take pictures and update the blog!! :)

Here's my latest layout....finished it last night!! I'm so in love with Pink Paislee pp with it's endless fun colors, patterns and embellishments!!! This is Cupcake and well, Sophie is as sweet as a cupcake so this pp worked perfectly!!!!

I've got the Christmas Spirit, do you have the Christmas Spirit? :) That's a little saying in our family, we usually start most conversations with that when talking to my aunts and mom. Makes us smile and get into the Christmas Spirit even if we're not quite ready for it!!! lol

The cards below are a sampling of the Christmas cards I've made this year...love the kraft CS, it's classic yet not normal Christmas colors...I'm all over that!!!! :)

On another note - I'm enjoying my Cuttlebug a LOT...who knew?? I've used it on cards, layouts (the butterflies on the layout above, for example, were my latest aquisition) and different altered projects I'm working on, it has so many uses that it really ended up being money well spent!!! I can't wait to show you the rest when they are completed!!!

Our Christmas tree is going up today...I'll have it ready to go for this evening to add the lights since I prefer to string the lights in the dark so that I can make sure they are perfect...if I'm still "going" once that much is done, I'll most likely finish it tonight, if not, that will be tomorrow's job. I can't wait for the house to be all festive and decorated!!!! Love this time of year! Oh and I did a little online shopping this morning for Paul, he'll be happy with this gift I know!

Found Some Daylight Hours

To take some pics of my latest creations!!! It's hard to come by daylight this time of year and since I've switched to taking photos instead of scanning it's left for a weekend project...makes me look like I did more than I have since they all go up at once! LOL

First off, a Christmas card that I whipped up last night...similar in design to the ones posted earlier on in Nov, a slight variation if you will. I made 8 of these last night in about 20 minutes...I'm starting to panic a bit since it's almost Dec 1st and I'm not done making cards yet!!!! Yikes!

Now for some fun Pink Paislee creations...oh dear, I'm so addicted to this pp line right now...I've always liked it but lately everything they are coming out with is inspiring me big time!

**note the flower center here, it's a Tim Holtz circle Fragment...how cool are these things...I got some as a gift and had NO idea what to do with them...watched a video on Tim's blog and voila, I have a flower center!!! :) Love it!

These are portrait photos that I never know what to do with...too small to frame, he's already 3 years older than these pics so I decided to scrap them...they can't be submitted, etc. but they're still cute to me and I thought fit perfectly with the Pink Paislee owl!!

This one...way different than my usual style of scrapping but I wanted to showcase a pic of each of our neices and nephew and one together so trimming a few of the odd pics I had fit perfectly on this layout.

I watched this video on Jennifer McGuire's blog this weekend - and yes, now I NEED a Slice by Making Memories - and last night, Virginia posted her 8th Day of Christmas project over at Scrap Shotz and guess what it was? Yup, this star!!! It would've been much easier with a Slice but I did it thanks to some BG Christmas shapes and a Bazzill chip star!!!

I plan to make a whole bunch more...it might just be my "2008 ornament that I make for all the kids and family"!! I'm sure they will love them!!! :) TFL

Holy Mojo is right...I'm about this close to starting another layout and it's past my bedtime!!!! I'm seriously addicted to sketches lately and found this yummy on Pink Sketches (link to the right). One took me a week, the other, just over an hour...go figure! I have a really hard time with boy layouts...tell me why? I'm so not a pink person (although I do love to scrap with it) so doesn't it make sense that neutral color layouts should be easy for me...not so much for boys but I'm working on it, especially with these new pics of my nephew, helps that he's cute as a bug! ;)

I grabbed some of last years Basic Grey and went to town, the die cuts are so much fun!!!!

This next layout is new October Afternoon...one of my fav lines lately!!!!!! The colors are lucious without being overly bright!!!!

After a beautiful, beautiful week on O-Town, I'm back in my scrap room trying to finish up some stuff that I started before it became "summer in the winter"!!! Here's one I finally finished this afternoon. It's based on a Pagemaps sketch and is the first challenge over at Art Unleashed. What a fun sketch to use for inspiration...well, I guess the Fancy Pants pp and chipboard didn't hurt, either!!! YUM!!!!

Here's another one from the same Fancy Pants line, can you tell I like it? Honestly, I really do! ;) lol This was the October Kit at Scrap Shotz and I was able to snag a kit this month...I miss being on the DT sometimes!!!! ;)

That's all for now...back to the scrap table for me...I'm in the mood for a Half Map from Pagemaps, so I might actually try one of those for fun!!! :)

Where did the year go? Holy smoly, guess I'd better get cracking on my Christmas cards, I stalked up on envelopes when I was at Staples on Friday so I have no excuse now...except that I feel like scrapping, not making cards...go figure! ;0)

I did a little bit of scrapping this weekend, applied for a couple of Design Team postions and a guest DT position at a sketch blog...it's okay either way if I get none of them but hey, it's a way to get my work out there, right? In between 2 trips to the dump with "stuff" from our basment (ahh, the space down here now!!!), winterizing the boat and flower beds and cleaning up outside...we even had a bon fire of pine branches...nice!!!!!!, I did a little scrapping but my Sat. evening plans were thwarted by the fact that I fell asleep on the couch at 9:00PM!! My #1 reason why I don't lay on the couch in the evenings!!! lol

I did an overhaul on myself this weekend, too...new color, a 2 step jobbie that was actually kind of fun to do and it actually looks okay, I'll see about getting a picture tonight after work, see if hubby can work the camera for me! :)

That's all for now, maybe I'll get in a card or two before volleyball tonight!! :)

Some People Suck!!!!

As you've all read, I entered into a layout contest, I was excited, a little nervous - it was after all my first contest like this, ever - and I was quite proud of myself for stepping out of the "box" and trying new things/challenges!!!! As of this morning, I made it to Round #4...yay me!

Well, about an hour after the contestants got the challenge, we received an email that the contest was CANCELLED!!!! WHAT??? Yep, apparently some people can't follow the rules, or innocently overlooked what was expected during the contest and were soliciting votes for their layouts. The rules clearly stipulated that the vote was anonymous and no names of contestants were posted...you were not to post anything on your blog re: the vote except for the blurb given by the contest administrator....ie: what I posed each and every week here on my blog.

It's so unfair turning something like this into a popularity contest and asking all your family and friends to go vote for you...when you might not deserve to make it into that next round. Why can't people play by the rules? Is the prize pack worth dishonesty, your pride, your integrity? Not for me it's not...so while I'm sad that that the contest has been cancelled, I'm kind of glad that it's over, I wouldn't dream of asking my friends and family to vote for my layout knowing that I didn't move on honestly...I can't believe the gall of others that can!

My heart goes out to Cat for being forced to make this decision...lack of respect is another pet peeve of mine...YMBD is a fabulous forum and full of wonderful, honest, caring people! I plan on sticking around and making myself at home, it's an awesome place to play!!!

Here's my layout I entered into Round #3 - the challenge was to use a SHAPE on your layout that wasn't the norm...ie: circles, squares, etc. I chose this huge Heidi Swapp butterfly overlay that I've had kicking around for a while...the more I look at the layout, the more I like it so one good thing came out of all the hoopla above!!!!

Also, check out the pp I used...it's called Webster...if you can get your hands on some...DO IT!!!!! Check out Scrapbook Star, that's where I got mine...it's sooo yummy!!!!!!

Scrapping Sunday!!!

It's a not bad day outside and I'm in here scrapping...of course, standing out in the pourning RAIN yesterday afternoon and most of the evening for a Halloween party yesterday means I deserve it, right? ;)

I was surfing blogs and checked out a fav of mine and found this little post for easy, super cute Christmas cards...after debating what pp to use and creating a Christmas tree pattern in PSP since I don't have any tree stamps, it took me about 15 minutes to make 4 of them!!! Watch the video to see just how easy they are and then get started on your own Christmas Cards, like I did! :)

Ignore the crooked stamping...my stamp was messed up and I finally (by the last card ;)) had to take it off the wood mount and reposition it!!! Might have to redo the background piece before I send them off...it's driving me batty!!!!

What a long week this has been!!!! My mom is in town for 3 weeks (YAY!!!) working at her old branch at the bank "for fun" - she retired 3 years ago and sometimes works part time at her old, old branch in Nova Scotia....she's having a blast seeing old friends and customers again...and while I love having her here, she's been using my car every day and that means that I have to get up EARLY to pick her up at my brother's house...makes for a very tired girl at the end of a week...week #2 is almost over, though, I figure it's the least I can do since she did it for me for 20+ years! ;) ;)

That said, no matter how tired I am...I WILL!!!! scrap tonight!!!! I've had so much mojo lately that it's surprising even me!!! Everything is pulled out from the Mini Card Crop that SSz had a couple weeks ago to start my Christmas cards so it really wouldn't be hard but I have so much new stuff...and more on the way that I've been wanting to play with that I'm okay if I wait a little bit to start them!! ;) I've got an idea brewing in my head for the pumpking carving pictures I took last Thanksgiving at my in-laws place...I figure with some TLC in PSE that I can get some cool photos to print and scrap! **mental note to stop at Staples tonight to buy printer paper...and maybe some ink! ;)

Off to look at some inspiration on blogs and in galleries...I mean get back to work!!!! Have a great weekend everyone!

I so wish I was doing that right now...it's rainy, dark, dreary and I'm at work...so not a good combination! My mojo is flowing and I just want to scrap...hopefully it's still there at 5:00 when I get home...pizza for supper anyone? ;) ;)

SYTYCS Round #3!!!

So, I made it through to Round #3 of the So You Think You Can Scrap contest at YMBD, I'm so excited!!!! Thanks for the votes for those of you that voted for me!!!! :) The next round is very cool....going to take a lot of thinking to do something different and that stands out from the crowd!!! I have an idea so I'll be starting tonight...even skipping volleyball to scrap...so not like me but that's how excited I am...and my knee is still a bit swollen! ;) Shh...that's the real reason I'm missing but hey, whatever works!!!! :) :)

Picking up photos from yesterday's shoot on the way home tonight, I can't wait to take a gander of them printed and see how they compare to my monitor...and scrap them, of course! ;)

Fall Photo Shoot and Scrapping Weekend!!!!

What's better than scrapping??? Taking photos to scrap, that's what!!!! The kids and I went out today to his Petri Island...the leaves were all over the ground, the beach was pretty much deserted, although, there were a lot of people around the nature trails...very cool spot to take photos if you live in the area!!!

Here are a few of my favs!!

Before the photoshoot today I spent the weekend scrapping...here's one I did a result of the Color Your World Online Crop at SSZ. Scrap Shotz Gives Back again this crop and the proceeds go to the Alziemer's Society, a very near and dear to my heart charity. Every layout created for this challenge, Sandy and Scrap Shotz will donate $5...the more we create the more they get. As of yesterday we were up to 23 entries...that's AMAZING....thank you everyone!!!!!

Yep, I made it through the "sign up" round!!! Now that the first round is over, I can share the layout I submitted. We had to pick our favorite of all time layout and submit it, I chose this one of Tyler and the large size photo really catches my eye each time I look at it so I hoped that it would catch the eyes of the voters, too! :)

The Good Stuff (About U)

We got our new assignments on Monday and would you believe, me, the biggest procrastinator in the world, actually sat down on Monday night and started and finished a layout?? Well, I did...:) :) This contest round is scrap your flavourite flavour of ice cream!!! That was a no brainer for me!!! See if you can figure out which one is mine when it comes time to vote...if you know me, you'll know my fav. kind! ;)

I'm also busy working on my Scrap Shotz Alumni challenges for the Online crop next weekend...it's themed Color Your World so you can just imagine the fun we're all having thinking up challenges! World Card Making Day - Oct 4, 2008

All over the scrap world this weekend were online crops, friend crops, store crops, blog challenges and sketch challenges for World Card Making Day. Most people gage this as a "the" weekend to start making their Holiday Cards and while I'm no card maker I guess I started mine this weekend, too!! I'm up to 4 now....46 or so more to go! ;)

There was a mini crop at Scrap Shotz with lots of awesome challenges posted by the Creative Team and so far I've managed to do quite a few of them. DH was away golfing and talking about fishing yesterday so I had the whole day/evening to myself to scrap to my little hearts content...so I did!!!!

CRAZY, just Crazy!!!!

Where have the last 2 weeks gone? Well, I'll tell ya, there wasn't a lot of scrapping going on but I did get some absolutely gorgeous photos this past weekend at Grey Rocks, Mount Tremblant, Quebec!!! We spent 3 pretty darn nice Fall days on three different golf courses...I can barely move today - 2 days later - but man it was worth it!!!! The company was awesome and the massage we had on Sat. morning was heaven!!!! Good food, great friends and a golf course, or three, what more could you want?? :) I'm working on the photos a bit each night to resize, for uploading, etc. so watch for them in the next couple days...and best thing - all the new Fall pp's are just perfect for them so I can see some scrapping in the near future!!!!!

On a sadder note, today marks the first day that I can't call myself a Design Team member at Scrap Shotz...I'm going to miss it in a big way, especially the team environment - but I'm also looking forward to scrapping for me, with product that I buy and never seem to find time to use and spreading my wings to see just where I'll fly next in this wonderful world of scrapbooking! One project I have on the go is So You Think You Can Scrap at YMBD, check it out, there's a couple more days to enter and the talent is amazing!!!!

Another Week

Not much happened on the scrapping front this past weekend but Paul and I purged though clothes in our closets and drawers on Sun and man it feels good to lighten the load!!!! Our room is sparkly clean now and we're in negotiations to knock out a wall and build a walk in closet out of the 2nd bedroom...it's really tiny and would give just enough "more" space in our room for a king size bed and a kick butt closet...the more we talk about it the more I like it! Stay tuned for that little project...right after the basement/scrap area/work out room!!!

Softball playoffs start this week so I'll be busy for sure...going to miss volleyball on Thursday, what will I do? ;)

On the scrapping side of life, I'm working on my last DT project for Scrap Shotz and hope to reveal it sometime in the next week or two...before the end of the month if everything goes well! It's the Piggy Tales Draw Bridge album...it's such a cool project, and so fun to work with!!!!

It's been so long since I've had the "urge" to scrap, the mojo to actually scrap and the time to sit down and DO IT!!!!! This weekend, I changed all that...I got some great new Pink Paislee pp and the KT2 Kit by American Crafts from Scrap Shotz and knew I had to use them both...NOW!!!! So I did!

Here are the results of my madness - both were inspired by layouts at 2Peas, love that gallery, and I thank the talented members there for giving me my mojo back!!!!!!

A Dry Summer

Well, aside from all the rain we had here in Eastern Ontario....still managed to be away from my scrap room for the majority of it, though...last night I decided it was time to scrap for ME....Me, Me, Me...so I did! It's a blatant lift of one of Nonie's DT layouts from the Sept Kit, but hey, it worked for me and I loved it!!! :)

For your viewing pleasure...I'm scrapping and working on the new header for the blog today so stay tuned for more fun stuff from me in the next little while...I'll tell ya what I've been doing all summer! :) :)

Nov CT Reveal - Heidi Grace Moonlight Meadow

Have you ever seen anything so yummy? The pp with all it's glitter, the chipboard elements, the glitter blossoms, chipboard and cardstock alphas...oh my!!! I loved the kit on site, had a harder time working with it then I thought I would but I'm rather pleased with the finished results!!!

Oct DT Layouts - Before it's Nov! ;)

Yeah, yeah, I've been neglectful, I know. Things have been crazy busy around here but hopefully it will start slowing down soon. This weekend we'll close the outside for winter, store the lawn furniture, build the new tempo for the boat to get it out of my parking spot for the winter ;) trim back the bushes in the gardens and make sure all the Christmas lights still work (yes, we leave them up all year, you can't see them though when you're not looking, I promise! ;)) and plan what we're going to do with the new railing on the deck, I'm envisioning spruce boughs with lights wound around and maybe a wreath or two, Hubby, not so impressed. ;)

Sometime soon it's time to go through the clothes in our house, hubby and both have so many, at least half that neither of us wear...it's all going to Sally Ann. Hopefully this weekend, too!

Last but not least, here are my Oct DT layouts..better late than never, right? :) October's DT kit was Basic Grey Peripery - oh my, I loved it!!!! The colors are gorgeous and really, can you go wrong with Basic Grey? I don't think so! :)

This photo has been hanging on my parents wall for years, it's a picture of my dad and his parents back when he was just a little tyke...this pp is perfect for heritage type photos!

We had a challenge this month to use 10 photos on a layout...after most of us grumbled about using 10 photos, we all got down to business and I'm extremely happy with what I turned out - and I even did a 2 pager, something I rarely do these days! :)

For fun, I did a little card with the rubs and scraps that I had left over...yummy!

Last but not least was my Catch Phrase challenge for this month. Eye on the Prize was the phrase to use as your inspiration. I took photos of my uncle when I was in Nova Scotia in Sept and couldn't wait to use them on a layout. He's been wanting a "real" cowboy hat for years and finally got one this year when they went to the Calgary Stampede, he's looking very cowboy'ish to me! :)

I actually did some scrapping last night...this layout has been on the go for at least 2 months...so unlike me!!!! I finally tried a couple (okay, more than a couple) colors of card stock and once I found one I like, it just came together. I asked some advice from my scrapping guru friend Wendy and she agreed that I should outline the flowers to make them pop, so I did it. Love the finished product!!!

Another Week

and it's not over yet! Ugh, tomorrow is my Saturday to work...it's been 9 weeks, so I guess I can't complain but hey, still would be nice to have a 2 day weekend...the week after a Sat shift is always so long!!!! We've been training this week to do a special project in the office - to add to the special assignment I've already been doing for 4 years and my brain is fried...so much to learn, totally different process yet similar to what I do already...talk about confusing! We're also crazy busy this time of year with students going back to university so that doesn't help...oh the joy of the job I have to pay for my scrapping hobby!!!! ;)

It seems like forever since I've scrapped anything. I've got a lot that needs to be done before Sept 1st but our DT kits were delayed (new CHA releases!!!! :)) so we're hanging out waiting for them to arrive. While we're waiting, I have been working on a new project for Scrap Shotz that will be revealed on Sept 1st...shhhhhhhh, it's a secret!!!! I think it's going to be so cool and you'll love it! I've also been working on new blinkies for the DT team and will do one for the new focus group we have, too...fun, fun!!! Scrap wise, I have been working on an 8x8 album for the newlyweds from the wedding we went to in Punta Cana in April...I took the best photos that I took of the actual wedding and started putting together an album for their wedding present! I'm using a Maya Road raw chipboard album and now that I'm more than half way finished, it's starting to look like an actual album!!!!! Their colors were pink and brown...so IN right now....the MME papers I chose work perfectly...yum!!!! I hope they love it!! Once I give it to them, I'll share it here!

My To Do List is Getting Smaller

Had today off so I set myself down and worked on the two Circle Journals that I've had sitting here for 3+ weeks. Yikes! Well, I'm pleased to say that they are done, packaged and gone on to their next destination!! Yay me!

On Friday I created this little number. Based on a sketch from Getting Sketchy, love that blog!!!

Creative Imaginations was the flavor of the month for July...YUM!!!! It went perfectly with my Punta Cana pictures. (are you sick of these layouts yet? whew, good to know cuz there's lots more to come! LOL) The elements were so bright and fun and fit with a lot of different photos! :)

For July we did a member scraplift and I lifted MelissaM from NFLD; a member of our board at Scrap Shotz...loved her layout.

Love this line. Didn't buy it when it first came out and then I took a couple pictures of Tyler that just screamed this pp so I bought it...I've done a few with it now, including those pics I'll show you in later post!!!

This month we went totally crazy...FUN crazy that is! Summer is here, everyone is so excited about the warm weather, gardening, swimming, etc. so what we did was 1. Alter an item. I made a picture frame with a fav flower from my garden and using rubs from Autumn Leaves and the glass insert from an old picture frame that I had, I created this. I love it and it now proudly hangs in our bathroom.

Then we mixed it up and little bit by having just two challenges this month. Aimee and I paired up to challenge Wendy and Carla. When I say mix it up, that's exactly what we did. Aimee did what I usually do for a monthly challenge, I created a sketch and we created two layouts for one challenge. Here's mine:

So mixing it up was fun but we were still required to create at least one layout with the pp. I altered my photos and created this:

Then, since I was on a roll, I created a couple of cards for hubby's sister for their anniversary and a birthday card for our neice who turned one in July.

May's DT layouts

May's DT Kit was 7 Gypsies...I love the pp but came to the realization when creating the layouts that I don't take photos that suit this vintagy type of pp. I had a really hard time with this kit but I stepped out of my usual box and that, as they say, is what a challenge it, correct? :)

This months Catch Phrase is Transitions - as seen in April's CK in Ali's article on page 65

She writes:
Our lives are full of transitions. Things are always changing, evolving, ebbing and flowing. Situations that seem stable and constant can change in an instant or over days, weeks, months or years. Some we welcome, others we dont....(continue reading the article in April's CK)

Here are a few of her ideas found in the article:
1. Compare one time to another.
2. Tell the store of a moment of big change. - A new job, wedding, death, life.
3. Document your feelings while you are transitioning. - How you control or handle the changes; how they make you feel, etc.
4. Everyday transitions. - Things you take for granted around your home; job; family, etc.
5. Document the "Handovers" - Happy transitions are also a big part of life. New experiences, making friends, meeting people who will touch your life in amazing ways.

April's Kit was Fancy Pants. I chose the Aged Floral line, the colors just spoke to me bright but muted at the same time...I like bright but find it hard to work with so this line was right up my alley!! :) Enjoy!

Catch Phrase this month was the word RENEW.

I chose pictures of my tulips just peeking through

the ground to show my idea of RENEW.

Where has the time gone? We've been back from Punta Cana for more than 3 months and I haven't been around in ages!! Yikes, sorry everyone! I promise I'm going to be more diligent getting posts on here and layouts. I'll even add the past few months for your viewing pleasure! Won't that be great! ;) :)

Off to upload April-May-June and July's layouts...be prepared!!!

Yes, we've been and have come back from Punta Cana...can I just say I want to go back again...right NOW!!! :) :) It was a fabulous trip and soon I'll post some of my favorite photos on my other blog soon.

March CT Layouts

This months pp was WRMK Homemade line...can you say scrumptious? I can!!! I had a lot of fun with this line, the colors are gorgeous and it was very easy to work with!

Finally got a chance to take a closer look at Sketch This! and actually create a layout from the first sketch that was uploaded a few weeks ago. Love how it turned out. BG Perhaps pp...yum!!!

A couple of picture from our visit to Nova Scotia in Jan. The neices and I were hanging out on the floor and kids being kids, well, Auntie Julie looked like a comphy place to lay! This sketch was a perfect way to showcase these two photos my Aunt gave me.
